HILLSIDE OF ABUNDANCE This steep hillside garden needed retention and defined activity areas.

The design creates three broad terraced areas, using native basalt boulders to retain soils.

The upper bluestone patio boldly grounded with elegant columns is softened by a border of shrubs, vegetables, perennials and climbing roses, a mix that fulfills the owners' wish for an exuberant English cottage garden overlooking Puget Sound.
